
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (January 27, 1756 – December 5, 1791) was an Austrian composer and one of the greatest representatives of classical music. He was born in Salzburg to the composer Leopold Mozart. From early childhood, he showed musical talent, playing the harpsichord, violin and piano. At the age of 6, he began giving public concerts, traveling around Europe. In 1770, he became the youngest member of the Bologna Philharmonic Academy. His creative legacy includes more than 600 works, including 41 symphonies, 27 piano concertos, 22 operas, chamber music and sacred works. His operas, such as The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni and The Magic Flute, remain the pinnacles of world music. Mozart died at the age of 35. The causes of his death are still debated. His music continues to inspire listeners around the world.
